Boston Criminal and Civil Appeals Lawyers

What is an appeal?

An appeal is a process which you may use to request a modification to a court's decision. In the legal system, parties in a trial have the right to appeal to a higher court if they believe that the conclusion in a lower court was erroneous. When you feel that a judge makes an error in interpreting law, the issue is grounds for an appeal.

What will Russell and Associates do to ensure that your appeal is successful?

Russell and Associates is dedicated to providing you the best possible results for your appeal. We will use the following process to do so:

1.) First, we will review the pretrial record & trial transcript to find valid reason to reverse or modify the trial court decision.

2.) Next, we will perform legal research to find a preceding incident (precedent) that exemplifies, supports, and contrasts your cause. This is done to present our strongest arguments while anticipating and lessening the damage caused by possible counterarguments.
3.) After, we will draft a persuasive written argument and review the briefs filed by your opponent.
4.) Finally, we will present a careful, well-crafted oral argument before the appeals court.

In addition to representing the party that files the appeal (the appellant or petitioner), we represent the party on the other side, the respondent or appellee.

We will represent-
1.) appeals at the trial court level
2.) appellants (those who file the appeals)
3.) appellees (those of whom the appeal is filed against)
4.) parties on appeal previously represented by other attorneys

At Russell and Associates, we are highly skilled in each aspect of processing an appeal. Our research is thorough, our writing is persuasive, and our oral advocacy is excellent. In the past, we have done extensive work in the appellate court. You have our utmost assurance that your case will be handled with care, consideration, and expertise.
